Given the ongoing impacts of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) global pandemic, and after careful consideration of the current situation, the IASLC Board of Directors and IASLC leadership have made the decision to move the IASLC 2020 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC 2020) to a fully virtual meeting. The virtual WCLC 2020 will be held Thursday, January 28, 2021 to Sunday, January 31, 2021.

The decision, while difficult, was made in consideration of a variety of factors including the strict travel and entry restrictions into Singapore for the foreseeable future. These uncertainties will affect the ability of delegates, speakers, presenters and exhibitors to participate in a live event in Singapore in January. While we are disappointed that we will not gather in person, we are encouraged about the opportunities presented by this virtual conference. We recognize that many in the thoracic oncology community have already contributed a great deal of time, energy and money into helping prepare for WCLC 2020 and we expect that the preparations already undertaken will help set the stage to an exceptional virtual meeting.

Our comprehensive virtual program will deliver the knowledge and networking-rich conference experience that you have come to expect from our in-person events. A digital platform offers many additional exciting possibilities including an even wider and more inclusive outreach than a live event alone.

Leading in to the 2020 WCLC, we are excited to present potentially practice changing studies and recent advances in thoracic oncology at the IASLC WCLC 2020 Virtual Presidential Symposium on August 8, 2020.This complimentary Symposium is a prelude to the new innovative research that will be presented at the WCLC 2020 scheduled for January 28 - 31, 2021. We are also looking forward to the IASLC 2021 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC 2021), which will be held September 11 - 14, 2021 in Denver, Colorado. It is planned that the 2021 conference will have in-person and virtual components. The World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) is the world’s largest meeting dedicated to lung cancer and other thoracic malignancies. Further details will be shared soon.
