The Republic of Singapore welcomes visitors with relatively relaxed visa procedures. Citizens of many nations are eligible for a 30-day social visit pass on arrival in Singapore. However, citizens of certain countries do require tourist visas and anyone planning to work in Singapore must apply for the appropriate permits.
Under most circumstances, US citizens do not need to apply for a Singapore visa. The length of stay, typically 14 to 30 days, is at the discretion of immigration officials at the Singapore airport.
You must show proof of onward travel, including a valid entry visa for your next destination if required, along with a valid passport for at least six months and sufficient funds for your stay.
Citizens of certain countries require a visa for any visit to Singapore. Nationalities that require a visa include, but are not limited to, many Middle Eastern countries and many nations of the former Soviet Union. The list is further divided into Assessment Level I and Assessment Level II. The requirements are similar for both lists.
